Come learn the art of belaying; the skill needed to hold the climber in the air as they ascend our rock wall. Belay classes are offered every Monday from 12-1pm. This clinic teaches the basics of climbing equipment usage, commands, knots, and safety. After completion of this class participants will be belay qualified for our rock wall for the rest of the year.

California’s wine country is one of the premier destinations in the world! With hundreds of wineries, local eateries, and stunning views, you will surely have an amazing time sampling what the different vineyards have to offer. Come join us for a day filled with delicious wines and hidden treasures. We do our best to visit free and/pr discounted wineries, but additional costs may apply per winery. We will stop for lunch. Please make sure you have proof of age.

Mountain Bike

Age: 14+
Santa Cruz offers both single and double track trails. This will be a fun time as we ride around, slinging mud high in the air! We will be exploring forests, meadows, and ocean views as we climb and descend under nothing but peddle power. This trip has something for everyone beginner to intermediate. Trip includes transportation and guide. Bikes may be available for an extra $5 fee, ask at registration.

Trip includes sleds, transportation, park fees, snacks, and hot chocolate. Dress for the weather and feel free to bring your own sleds!

During this class you will learn the basics of climbing equipment, safety, basic climbing skill, and belay techniques right here at the Outdoor Adventure Programs indoor climbing wall. Class includes all equipment and professional instruction.

Winter Hut Trip (XC Ski/Snowshoe)
Colby Meadows

A wonderful winter get away! Join us as we snowshoe to the lookout tower in the snow covered flats of Colby Meadows. We will have three days to explore the local scenery, relax, and enjoy the snow. At night sit back and enjoy the woodstove in this backcountry atmosphere in this rustic hut. Trip includes transportation, most meals, gear, and guides!

Here is your chance to take the sport of rock climbing to the next level! We will be traveling to Mt. Saint Helena for a day of sport climbing. This intermediate trip is geared to avid climbers that want to learn how to go off on their own. Our guides will teach you the basics of sport climbing while you spend the day testing your skills on multiple different routes. All equipment, instruction, and transportation provided. Prior experience or completion of an Intro to Rock Climbing class required.

Surfing not your thing, no problem, we will have boogie boards on hand for anyone who wants a different type of ride. Location is TBD based on ocean conditions. Already have skill? No problem, join us anyhow and enjoy the beauty of the ocean on your own. Trip includes guides, boards, transportation, and wetsuits.

Join us as we take you on this very rewarding journey where we will be hiking 6.5 miles through Mountain Tamalpias State Park. From the beach you will venture alongside creeks, under redwood tree canopies, over lush coastal flora, all while capturing spectacular panoramic views. This is a medium difficult trail and we will be gaining 1900ft. Dress for the weather. Trip includes transportation and guide.

Backpacking
Pine Ridge Trail to Sykes Hot Springs
Cost: $99
The Pine Ridge Trail is located in Big Sur wilderness just a few short hours from Travis. This out and back trail will take us up about 10 miles to the Sykes Hot Spring Campground. We will cross creeks, climb mountains, and trek through the wilderness offering spectacular views of multiple waterfalls until we reach the ultimate destination. Enjoy soaking in Sykes Hot Springs at the days end and soak those sore muscles in this year round 100+ degree natural hot tub! This is a strenuous hike so please be a skilled and confidant hiker. All meals, transportation, and guides provided. Backpacks, sleeping bags, and tents may be available, ask upon registration. This is THE overnight backpacking trip in the San Francisco area, don’t miss out!
